***UPDATE: As of 3:30 pm we are planning to proceed with the installation and the River Songs and Stories 🙂 Bring a lawn chair and umbrella! ***
Culture Days is happening this weekend in communities across the country, including more than a dozen free arts events here in Maple Ridge.
This evening, Fri Sept 29, you’re invited to join me and fellow Artist-in-Residence Kat Wahamaa for an evening of river songs and stories, as well as the River of Light community lantern installation. The lanterns will be lit from 6 – 9 pm at Davidson’s Pool (map) in Maple Ridge. River Songs and Stories, hosted by Kat and featuring a line-up of local songwriters, singers and poets, will start at 6:30 pm.
We’ve been watching the weather forecast and hoping the rain will hold off for the event. We’ll make a final determination at 3 pm but at this point are planning to proceed. Check the facebook event page or ferncrescent.ca for the latest updates.
